After being betrayed, he was dragged off to Dumbarton Castle, where arrangements were made for his transportation to London were made
According to legend, he was chained to tree at port Glasgow before being moved south

Beautiful view, the stairs take a little exertion but I honestly thought hiking up them was fun!

Sadly I couldn’t get up to it in my wheelchair but could see the monument from the road. It’s free to visit and no ticket buying is necessary.

Never knew this was on my doorstep. There is a small parking area next to it and its within walking distance to the walace well. You can visit both sites in one day. The monument is in great condition.
